What is here

Three rooms. Logic grids: 6 daily puzzles — Futoshiki, Binairo, Skyscrapers, Nonogram, Hitori, Light Up — each with a rules page and an archive of every past day. Word games: daily puzzles in the style of the five-letter guessing game, from a single board to sixteen at once, plus equations, primes, and a grid of crossing words. And a glossary of variant sudoku rules, one sentence each.

How it works

Every daily puzzle is picked deterministically for its date, so everyone in the world gets the same board on the same day and results can be compared. The grid puzzles are generated and checked by a solver before they are ever shown: a puzzle with two answers is thrown away, which is why the site can promise that there is never anything to guess at.

Play is free and needs no sign-up; a guest’s progress is kept in their own browser. An account adds three things: a streak, a daily score across the puzzle families, and a place on the leaderboard. That is the whole difference.

Who makes it

Puzzle Arena is an independent project, built and run by one person, with no ads and no investors. The variant sudoku library is a collection of puzzles by their named setters; the site credits each one and links to their other work.
